Aaron Dignan

Aaron Dignan is an internationally recognized thought leader and the founder of The Ready, a consulting firm focused on helping organizations “become rewired and work smarter.” Through his innovative approach to digital transformation, Dignan has established himself as a leading voice in the world of business and technology strategy.

Prior to founding The Ready, Dignan held positions at McKinsey & Co. and The Energy Project, an engagement consultancy founded by Tony Schwartz. Through his work at these two companies, Dignan developed and implemented business strategies that created systemic change in organizations' cultures and operations. Drawing from his experience at these two firms, Dignan co-authored the book Brave New Leadership to provide practical guidance on leading and executing organizational change.

Released in July of 2020, Brave New Leadership positions employees as a company's greatest asset and source of opportunity for transformation. The book breaks down the process of successful change at the organizational level into four steps: articulate the mission, prioritize core values and establish culture, align organizational structure, and execute programmatically. Dignan and his co-author, John Winsor, provide detailed guidance on how to properly implement these steps to ensure organizations reach their goals.

In addition to advocating for organizations rewire their operations, Dignan also advises businesses to use digital technology strategically to boost their productivity. Dignan is an advocate for the “Zero To One” philosophy, which encourages businesses to use digital technology to create more impactful solutions and uncover new opportunities. He has written extensively on this topic--most recently in his 2020 book, Zero to 1E5: An Actionable Guide to Accelerated Business Productivity. This book provides specific steps for business leaders to take in order to unlock their organization’s potential by strategically leveraging digital technologies.

Outside of business and technology, Dignan is also passionate about sustainability and social impact. He is a member of The Conscious Capitalism Organizational Design specialty group and has established a strong presence in the world of sustainability and impact investing. He is a frequent contributor to the Responsible Investment Association’s magazine, and has been featured in the Guardian and Harvard Business Review discussing how to build businesses that consider social and environmental impact into their operations.
