Adam Bryant began working for The Wall Street Journal in 1992, first as an editor and later as a columnist, where he wrote the weekly “Bottom Line” column for 13 years. In this column, he shared exclusive interviews and intelligence about effective corporate leadership. He then became an editor-at-large for Fortune magazine in 2008. After leaving Fortune, he joined The New York Times in 2011 and began writing the popular “Corner Office” Q&A column, which was adapted into his first book, “The Corner Office,” published in April 2011.
In “The Corner Office,” Adam Bryant draws on his extensive experience interviewing business leaders and executives to present their unprecedented insights and tried-and-true management philosophies. The book is a collection of interviews with dozens of the world’s most successful CEOs, founders, and presidents and focuses on their personal leadership styles, organizational theories, and career paths. “The Corner Office” provides an intimate look into the inner workings of business from the perspective of the C-suite.
Bryant’s second book, “Quick and Nimble: Lessons from Leading CEOs on How to Create a Culture of Innovation,” was published in March 2014. Once again drawing on his extensive experience interviewing business leaders across numerous industries, he presents comprehensive interviews with CEOs leading some of the world’s most successful and innovative organizations. This book focuses on the importance of building a culture of innovation, and gives readers the tools to achieve developments that are both fast, and profoundly effective.
Apart from his two books, Bryant is also a contributor to the Harvard Business Review, where he shares his insights, experiences, and learnings from his time interviewing corporate leaders. He shares expertise on topics such as organizational behavior, corporate culture, and leadership development.
Adam Bryant’s three-decade-plus career in business and leadership journalism has earned him numerous awards, including being named to the 2018 Folio 100 List of Most Influential People in Media and the 2013 Gerald Loeb Award for Feature Writing from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He continues his quest to observe, research, and develop his understanding of executive leadership.
In his own words, “I focus on the kind of leadership that enables innovation, creativity, and performance in both people and organizations. What sets apart the executives who drive stronger, more creative, faster-growing companies is often not what they do, it’s how they do it.”
For readers looking to gain insight into leadership and organizational development, Adam Bryant is an excellent source of knowledge and expertise. Through his books, columns and articles, he has been able to share his insights in an accessible way and provide a path to effective leadership and organizational success.
