Al Franken

Al Franken is a well-renowned author, comedian, and politician. He explored the accusation that American conservatives are dishonest and unfairly critical of liberal politicians and ideals. The book was well-received and became a number one bestseller. Several years later, Franken released a follow up book titled The Truth (With Jokes).

In 2005, Franken wrote a book about his time serving in the United States Senate, called Al Franken, Giant of the Senate. The book detailed his intense campaigning and political experiences, from personal triumphs to setbacks along the way. It was warmly received by readers and earned an Edgar Award. Franken next wrote a memoir, Al Franken: Giant of the Senate, which detailed his early years, leading up to his political success.

In 2018, Franken wrote The Horsefly Chronicles, which follows a serialized story of a family struggling to make a living during World War II, as told by a horsefly. Franken wrote the book as a way to explore themes of family, faith, race and economic struggles. It was a highly acclaimed work, praised for its historical accuracy and attention to detail.

As an author and politician, Franken has done a great deal to advance human rights, civil liberties, and progressive causes all over the world.
