Andy Puddicombe
When it comes to meditation, mindfulness and wellbeing, no one knows the importance of taking care of your mental state better than Andy Puddicombe. As a former Buddhist monk, Andy has dedicated the last two decades of his life to teaching the masses how to live in the present and remain mindful of the world around them.
Growing up in the South East of England, Andy had always had an interest in the mind and its potential for greater health and happiness. Taking up meditation as part of his studies in Sports Science at University, Andy had a spiritual awakening and decided to take a leap of faith, traveling to India and embarking on an intense ten-year journey of study, meditation and yoga.
Returning to England in 2004, determined to help others discover the potential of their minds for their own personal wellbeing, Andy co-founded the award-winning online mindfulness platform Headspace in 2010. Since then, the platform is used by 34 million users and is available in 190 countries.
In addition to Headspace, Andy has written multiple books on meditation, mindfulness, and wellbeing. His first book, Get Some Headspace, was released in 2011 and quickly became a bestseller. In 2016, Andy released his second book, The Headspace Guide To Meditation & Mindfulness, which was widely praised for its engaging writing style and thoughtful insight into the practice of meditation.
Andy is also well-known for his popular TEDx talks, which highlight the importance of cultivating mindfulness and doing the mental equivalent of exercising. He focuses on using basic daily activities like brushing your teeth to become more mindful and present in the moment, and how this can make a powerful impact on your wellbeing.
Apart from writing, Andy is also a public speaker, delivering speeches on how to live in the present and embrace calm as a way of survival. He regularly hosts corporate programs, giving people the tools and advice for how to incorporate mindfulness into their work.
Above all, Andy is an advocate for mental wellbeing and mindfulness. He believes that the power of meditation and living in the present moment can benefit everyone. His passion for helping people live their fullest and healthiest lives is truly inspiring, and his books and talks continue to be a source of solace and inspiration in an increasingly chaotic world.
