Beata Ernman

Beata Ernman is one of Sweden’s most beloved authors and an outspoken advocate for the environment and climate change awareness. She is best known for her children's book series, The Courageous Witch and her 2020 song and dance performance piece, Witch Mama, which was performed at the Financial Times Executive Conference. Bohman was born and raised in Sweden and attended Lund University, where she studied gender studies, history, and media and communication.

Beata Ernman's stories and works often center around themes of courage, female-bonding, friendship, and believing in yourself. Her books have helped to open conversations about environmental issues, freedom of choice and compassion for all living things. In 2019, she released her debut picture book, "The Courageous Witch", which follows a young witch who discovers that courage comes from within. Beata Ernman's debut novel, The Witch's Nest, was released in 2020 and follows a witch learning to accept her powers and fully embrace her identity. The story was an instant bestseller and was translated into several languages. Ernman has also received numerous awards, including the Grand Prize of the Year from Sveriges Radio, an environmental award from the Swedish government and an environment prize from Stockholm County. In addition, she was nominated for the Astrid Lindgren memorial award in 2020, one of the most prestigious awards for children’s lit.
