Candy Carson is the wife of US President Donald Trump’s Housing Secretary, Dr. Ben Carson. Candy Carson is a notable figure in her own right, having authored multiple best-selling books, run multiple business ventures, and founded the Carson Foundation charity to uplift inner-city children. Her life has been a journey of finding her own place and identity in the world.

Born in Denair, California in 1961, Candy attended local schools and graduated from Turlock High School in 1979. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in business from California State University Stanislaus in 1981, and soon after started a career that would span more than three decades.

In the 1980s, Candy worked as an office manager for Monsanto, where she created her own business process. In 1993, she started her own marketing and consulting business, Candy’s Unlimited. Candy earned a reputation as an independent marketer and business developer, often finding opportunities outside of typical corporate environments.

Candy met her future husband, Dr. Ben Carson, while working at a fundraiser in 1997. The couple married in 2001, and Candy managed Ben’s successful presidential campaigns in 2016 and 2020. The couple has three sons.

In 2014, Candy partnered with Believe Pictures to create the film “Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story”. She co-produced the film and founded The Candy Carson Fellowship Program, which sponsored screenings of the film and enabled young people to learn life lessons from Ben’s story.

In recent years, Candy has become a sought-after author and public speaker. Her first book “A Doctor in the House: My Life with Ben Carson” was released in 2017. It quickly became a best-seller, inspiring countless readers with Candy’s story of resilience and perseverance. Candy followed up with two more books in 2020 and 2021— “A Mother’s Touch: An Inspiring Story of Love and Persistence” and “Finding My Place: A Memoir and Reflection of Empowerment”.

Candy is also the founder and president of the Carson Scholars Fund, a charity dedicated to encouraging and inspiring youth from inner cities to pursue higher education. The charity helps to provide scholarships and engage youth in programs that promote educational achievement and personal growth.

In addition to her charitable work and successful business ventures, Candy also acts as an advisor to the Trump Administration on matters relating to education and technology. She also serves on the board of Directors of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.
