Catherine Price

Catherine Price is an accomplished author, journalist and freelance editor with a passion for researching and writing about health, science and the environment. She has written hundreds of articles and reports on a broad range of topics, including health and nutrition, sustainable food production, the environment and climate change. She has also authored several books, including her most recent work, How to Be a Conscious Eater (2017).

Catherine Price is a graduate of Princeton University and received a fellowship from The Nation Institute’s Investigative Fund. After graduating from Princeton, she co-founded the Feminist House with four other women and managed it for a year. Following her experience at the Feminist House, she went on to work as a freelance editor for a number of magazines and newspapers, including The New York Times, Time Out New York, The Huffington Post and The San Francisco Chronicle.

As an author, Catherine Price has written a number of books on health, nutrition, sustainable food production and the environment. Her first book, Vitamania: How Vitamins Revolutionized the Way We Think About Food (2008), looks at the history and evolution of vitamins. In 2014, she released Plan B: How to Hatch a Second Plan When Your First Life Plan Fails, which provides advice and tips on how to pursue life’s goals in the face of challenges. Her most recent and perhaps most popular book is How to Be a Conscious Eater (2017). The book is a comprehensive guide to understanding the implications of our food choices, and how to shop, cook, and eat in a more mindful and healthy way.

In addition to her books, Catherine Price has also written a number of articles and report on topics such as health and nutrition, sustainable food production and the environment. Her work has won numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting in 2014 for her reporting on the progress being made in creating sustainable food and agriculture. Price has also been a frequent contributor to The New York Times, Time Out New York and The San Francisco Chronicle, and lecture regularly on health, nutrition and the environment at universities, conferences and other events around the country.
