Chris Yeh

Chris Yeh is an American author, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist. He is well-known for his business and technology books detailing the technological, organizational and philosophical trends of the modern economy. His work is widely read by industry experts, and he is considered an influential figure in the world of technology, venture capital, and business.

Born in 1971 in New York City, Yeh studied electrical engineering at the California Institute of Technology, graduating in 1993. After graduation, his professional career began in 1994 when he joined McKinsey and Company's Silicon Valley office, where he worked as a software engineer. After two years, Yeh left to become a founding team member and executive at tech consulting giant Informix. From there, he went on to work for software company PeopleSoft as an executive vice president, and later as the senior vice president of marketing.

Yeh's breakthrough as an author came in 2004 with the publication of his first book, The Art of Community, which gained wide recognition and was praised by the Wall Street Journal, Forbes and the New York Times. This book examines the theory of building and managing communities, something critical for both businesses and open source projects.

Yeh continues to contribute to the tech world, not just through his writing and consulting work, but also as a venture capitalist. In 2006, Yeh co-founded the venture capital firm Wasabi Ventures with Sean Dockray, focusing on early-stage tech investments, with him managing the operations and investments in the US market. Since then, the firm has invested in over thirty companies from the US, China, and Taiwan.

In 2017, Yeh wrote The Alliance: Managing Talent in the Networked Age, a groundbreaking book on employee-employer relationships. It was released to widespread critical acclaim by The New York Times and Businessweek and was regarded as one of the most influential business books of the year.

Yeh's latest book, Blitzscaling: The Lightning-Fast Path to Building Massively Valuable Companies (2018), focuses on global-scale growth, and was widely praised.
