David Wroblewski, often known for his critically acclaimed novel The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, is an American author from Wisconsin. Wroblewski's work, which often centers around dogs, nature, and the beauty of Wisconsin, has earned him numerous awards, including the Indies Choice Award, Alex Awards, and the Michael L. Printz Award.

The Story of Edgar Sawtelle: A Novel is Wroblewski's first and most popular novel, which follows the story of a family whose home is a Wisconsin farm where they raise beloved dogs. After their son, Edgar Sawtelle, is born mute yet mysteriously exhibits unique abilities, the story delves into the mysteries of nature and mortality. Lastly, Wroblewski's most recent novel, Big Picture: A Mother, a Child, and the War on Hoarded Animals, published in 2019, tells the story of a feral girl named Cass and her mother, who must come together to fight the town’s long-standing law that forces people to give up their beloved animals to the town’s annual hunt. This novel captures a vivid journey of redemption and reconciliation as Cass and her mother explore the cycles of life and learn to protect what they love.
