Douglas E. Richards

Douglas E. Richards is an award-winning, USA Today and New York Times best-selling author of over twenty books, mostly science fiction and thrillers, but also non-fiction and children’s books. His works have been translated into many languages and sold all over the globe, making him a truly international sensation.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and growing up in Bayside, he graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. After a brief stint in the corporate world, he turned his attention towards his real passion: writing.

His first book, “Mind’s Eye”, was published in 2002. In 2013, he wrote a book for children and young adults, “The Charisma Virus”, to inspire and encourage the next generation towards success and happiness.

Throughout his career, Richards has won many awards, including the S.P.A.C.E. award for “Wired”, the Silverfalcon Award for “Mind’s Eye”, and the 2009 Remarkable Book Award for “Lightning”. He has also been recognized multiple times in Publisher’s Weekly for being a top choice for readers.

In addition to writing books, Richards also has a successful career as a filmmaker, having produced two movies, “The Last Supper” and “Dangerous Signal”. He also lectures frequently on subjects such as writing and filmmaking, and often gives master classes on the craft of science fiction writing.
