Douglas Smith

Douglas Smith is a Canadian author of science fiction and fantasy books, most notably the acclaimed Historical Fantasy series entitled The Wolf of Oren-yaro. He has earned multiple awards for his writings, including being named one of the Ten Best Fantasy and Science Fiction Writers by The Guardian.

Born and raised in Canada, Smith began writing when he was still in high school and later earned his Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Concordia University in Montreal. He has continued writing throughout the years and has written twelve novels and several short stories to date.

His most notable work so far is The Wolf of Oren-yaro, an Historical Fantasy series. This series carries with it something unique as its story is partially inspired by Filipino mythology. Smith’s other works include The Spider Garden and the Wasteland Duology. The Spider Garden is a post-apocalyptic coming-of-age story which follows Alan and his quest to save his home and protect the innocent from its corrupt power. His Wasteland Duology is a cyberpunk adventure where the characters evolve as they battle a corrupted Artificial Intelligence hell-bent on immersing humanity into its presence.
