This story follows a journey of personal growth and understanding as the characters come to terms with the changes in their lives.
The third book in Emma’s oeuvre, She Left Me The Gun, was published in 2016. This memoir follows the life of Emma’s father and his service in the British Army during the Second World War. It is a harrowing and intimate account of his wartime experiences and how they affected his personal life and relationships upon his return home.
In 2019, Emma released her fourth book, Shame Is An Ocean I Swim Across. This book is an attempt to understand and explore the concept of shame in modern society, and the damaging power of guilt and shame on an individual’s mental health and wellbeing. Through personal accounts and interviews, Emma unpacks how shame and stigma can shape how we feel about ourselves and how we interact with others.
