Born and raised in Detroit, Griffin was a self-taught scholar and advocate for liberty. He was a strong opponent of statism and socialism, believing that government is an oppressive and coercive institution. He argued in his books that government is growing in power, leading to a decrease in freedom. He also argued that government intervention in the economy is bad, leading to higher prices and an inefficient allocation of resources.
Griffin was a long-time foe of the Federal Reserve and a strong proponent of sound money and sound banking. He believed that money should be backed by a real commodity, such as gold or silver. He also believed that usury (the charging of interest on debt) should be abolished.
In addition to his writings, Griffin was a popular speaker at conferences and events. He gave many speeches at universities, including Harvard Law School and the University of Washington. He was an outspoken advocate for freedom and private property rights, and spoke on a wide range of topics.
Griffin’s most famous book is “The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve”. In this book, Griffin examines the history of the Federal Reserve and the role it plays in the economy. He argues that the Federal Reserve is not a neutral institution but an arm of the government and has a vested interest in the economy. He also critiques the structure of the Federal Reserve and its lack of transparency.
Griffin had a long career as an author and advocate for liberty and freedom. He believed that individuals should have the right to choose their own destiny without government interference. His book “The Creature from Jekyll Island” is considered one of the most influential works on economics.

He founded the Freedom Force International which has become one of the leading libertarian organizations in the world.
