Born in Paris, Joly has a degree in economics and business management from the Institut Supérieur des Affaires (ISA). After completing his degree, he served as president of the African Aerospace and Defense Group and then joined the global strategy consulting firm McKinsey & Company in 1989. There, Joly was a partner for a decade before joining Best Buy as CEO in 2012.

Joly went on to write several other inspiring books, including “The Transformative CEO” (2017) and “Reconnect to Lead: Choosing the Right Strategy for Changing Companies.” In “The Transformative CEO,” Joly advocates for a new kind of leadership, one that is open, inclusive and empowers people to take the lead in their professional lives.
