Jack Ma

The internet company started out as an online marketplace for small businesses and quickly grew to become one of the largest B2B (business-to-business) e-commerce sites in the world. In 2005, he launched Taobao, a massive consumer-based e-commerce platform. It quickly became China’s largest online retail service and completely revolutionized China’s shopping industry. In 2014, Ma launched the first IPO of Alibaba Group, which raised more than $25 billion.

Ma’s accomplishments are not limited to the business world. He has been recognized as one of the world’s most influential people and has been actively involved in philanthropic activities. His most notable initiatives include The Jack Ma Foundation, established in 2014 to support education and public health initiatives in China. In 2013, the Jack Ma Foundation created a $2 billion endowment to help more than 500 rural Chinese villages gain access to healthcare.
