Jason Lemkin
Jason Lemkin is an American software entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and bestselling author who has had an impressive career in the software industry. His first book, The Life of a Forger: The Incredible Life of a Software Entrepreneur and Venture Capitalist, has earned him widespread acknowledgement from the tech community.
Lemkin was born in California in November 1971. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and went on to attend Stanford University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in 1994.
At Stanford, Lemkin worked as a software engineer and was instrumental in developing various Netware products and Windows applications. In 1997, he made a move to the finance side of the technology industry and focused on venture capital investments. During that time, he co-founded an angel investment firm and made it one of the most successful of its kind in Silicon Valley.
In 2002, Lemkin wrote his first book, The Life of a Forger: The Incredible Life of a Software Entrepreneur and Venture Capitalist. In his best-selling book, Lemkin chronicles his experiences in the venture capital world, and emphasizes the importance of pushing the boundaries of technology to create new products and services. Additionally, he provides advice to entrepreneurs on how to successfully launch their own startup business.
In 2007, Lemkin co-founded the software company EchoSign, which was later acquired by Adobe in 2011. Between 2007 and 2013, he served as the Chairman at EchoSign. He then went on to found another software company, SaaStr, in 2013.
Inspired by his experience within the tech industry, Lemkin established SaaStr Annual, an event that brings together members of the software-as-a-service community. The annual event offers a unique platform for software entrepreneurs and investors to come together, share ideas, and expand their networks.
In addition to his tech ventures, Lemkin has written multiple books focused on entrepreneurship. These books include titles such as Salesforce Lightning Unleashed, Enterprise Software Unleashed, The Rebirth of the Entrepreneur, and Start Running to Win.
