John Brooks
John Brooks is an American author most well-known for his non-fiction New Yorker articles and his books on business and American culture such as The Go-Go Years and Business Adventures. While based out of Long Island, New York, John Brooks is a renowned author of both fiction and non-fiction books.
John Brooks was born in Santa Cruz, California in 1922. He graduated from Caltech with a degree in engineering before briefly working as an executive in a New York-based advertising agency in the 1940s. In 1947, he began writing for Fortune and The New Yorker, both of which he would later contribute to for many more years.
