Karen Kimsey-House

Karen Kimsey-House is a renowned international bestselling author, Writing Workshop facilitator and speaker who has inspired countless readers and writers around the world for over three decades. She is best known for her non-fiction book Co-Active Coaching; Changing Business, Transforming Lives published in 2005.

Karen was born in 1954 to a greengrocer father and a housewife mother in the rural outskirts of Minneapolis, USA. She attended the University of Michigan, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. Karen went on to pursue a career in corporate America, working in many marketing and sales positions. Despite her great success in the world of business, she was not entirely satisfied with her life purpose. She eventually decided to pursue her dream of becoming an author and to that end, she left the corporate world and moved to Los Angeles.

Karen has published several highly successful books, including The Co-Active Coaching Fieldbook and The Co-Active Guide to Leadership. She has also written many essays and published 10 books from the Co-Active Coaching series. Her books have been translated into numerous languages, including Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, and Czech.

In her books and essays, Karen teaches the art of reflective listening, a type of coaching that can help people embrace change and break through the barriers of doubt and fear that may be blocking their potential. Her unique approach to coaching and life in general is both inspiring and thought-provoking and encourages her readers to think more deeply about their own lives and how they can better relate to others.

Karen is also a sought-after speaker and has spoken at many corporate seminars, events, and workshops around the world. Her popular Co-Active Leadership seminars are attended by C-level executives and high-level entrepreneurs, seeking to gain new insights and develop the skills to lead their teams more effectively and proactively.

In 2013, Karen was a speaker at the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Global Conference in Singapore. With thousands of people in attendance, she inspired the audience with her moving address on how to be an effective coach, mentor and leader.

Karen gives back to her community through her philanthropic work and has raised money for various charitable organizations. She supports many prominent foundations and social causes, including the Orphans of Ethiopia Project, an organization that provides healthcare, food and education to orphaned children; and the US-based Moms Across America, an advocacy organization that is dedicated to creating healthier communities.
