Leif Babin

Leif Babin is an American author and war veteran who has written several books on leadership and warfare. He is a retired U.S. Navy SEAL and a Bronze Star recipient. His knowledge of combat, leadership and experience make him an authority on the topics of leadership and warfare.

Leif was born in Houston, TX in 1978. After graduating high school in 1997, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he spent two years on a guided-missile destroyer before transferring to the elite Navy SEALs.

He graduated from Basic SEAL Class 252 in 2001 and was designated a SEAL Team Leader in 2004. During his nine-year SEAL career, he was deployed six times around the world, and received numerous medals, including the Bronze Star.

Tragedy soon struck, however, with the death of his best friend and fellow SEAL, Michael Monsoor, who sacrificed his life to save the lives of several other SEALs. This experience led Leif to write his book, “No Hero,” which is considered one of the best books on the subject of courage and sacrifice.

After retiring from the Navy in 2009, Leif co-authored his second book, “Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win.” This is a gripping read about the principles of leadership in both war and business. The book, recently released in 2017, has been praised for its fascinating insight into the leadership style of Navy SEALs.

In 2016, Leif released his third book, “The Dichotomy of Leadership: Balancing the Challenges of Extreme Ownership to Lead and Win.” Building on the lessons from “Extreme Ownership,” Leif further explores the dynamics of leadership and how to effectively manage a team in any situation.

Leif’s fourth and most recent book “Lead Like A Navy SEAL: Motivate, Inspire, and Achieve Maximum Results” was released in 2020. The book is a practical guide to the foundational principles of leadership based on Leif’s own experiences as a Navy SEAL.

In addition to his books, Leif is an active member of the TED Talks community and has been featured in several TEDx Talks. He is also a sought after speaker, having spoken at Harvard, West Point, and other prestigious universities in the US and around the world.

Leif currently lives in Texas with his wife and three children and works as a Managing Partner at the consulting company Echelon Front. He continues to spread his knowledge and passion for leadership, empowering individuals, organizations and teams to reach their full potential.

In sum, Leif Babin is a leading American author, war veteran and speaker who has penned several books on the topics of leadership and warfare. His own experiences in the Navy and consulting career make him an authority on the subject of leadership and how to effectively lead and win.
