Louann Brizendine
Louann Brizendine is a renowned American scientist, psychiatrist, and author. She is known for her groundbreaking work in the field of neuroscience and gender differences. Brizendine is a frequent guest speaker, having appeared on various television programs and conferences, and she is the author of several important books which have had a major impact on the medical and psychological communities.
Brizendine was born in 1960 in Iowa and attended the University of Iowa, eventually earning her M.D. from the same university in 1985. The book was a New York Times Best Seller and has been published in multiple languages and adapted into a play. Her follow-up to that bestseller, The Male Brain, is similar in nature, focusing on the biological and psychological differences between males and females.
