Maggie O'Farrell

Maggie O’Farrell is considered one of the most celebrated contemporary authors in the United Kingdom. She has published fourteen works of fiction, spanning from thrillers to family sagas and autobiographical novels. Her most famous work to date is The Hand That First Held Mine, which was shortlisted for the 2010 Costa Novel Award and longlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction.

O’Farrell was born in Northern Ireland in 1972, but she moved to Scotland as a child and was raised in Oban and Edinburgh. It was nominated for the 2020 Women’s Fiction Prize and was longlisted for the Booker Prize.
