Maxwell Maltz
Maxwell Maltz was a successful psychologist, author, and inventor best known for his contribution to the field of self-image psychology through his book, Psycho-Cybernetics. He developed the pioneering Psycho-Cybernetics system, which was designed to help people achieve their personal, professional, and financial goals.
Maxwell Maltz was born in New York City in 1899. He attended New York University and received his Bachelor's degree in 1922 and his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1924. After medical school, Maltz served as a surgeon in the United States Army, where he developed a special interest in plastic surgery. Upon returning to civilian life, he opened a plastic surgery practice and wrote the best-selling book, New Faces, New Futures.
Maltz began his career in psychology in 1950, when he introduced his concepts of Psycho-Cybernetics in the groundbreaking book of the same name. The book was a major success and became the foundation for many modern self-help programs. In short, the system relies on the notion that our "self image" is the primary factor that determines our behavior, successes, and failures. Maltz argued that we must carry a positive mental image of ourselves in our minds in order to become successful and happy.
The book was highly praised by the public and the scientific community, and it helped to revolutionize the field of self-help psychology. The Psycho-Cybernetics system was influential on the lives of many, including leaders such as President John F. Kennedy and business magnate Donald Trump. It has also been credited with inspiring the success of Dr. Phil and Tony Robbins.
Over the years, Maltz published several books which expanded upon the ideas of Psycho-Cybernetics. These books included Creative Living for Today, Cybernetics of the Human Heart, Psycho-Cybernetics 2000, and Psycho-Cybernetics for the 21st Century. Through these books Maltz continued to explain and refine his ideas about the power of positive thinking, self-control, and achieving success.
Maltz’s work has had an immense impact on psychology and self-help programs, and his teachings are still popular and relevant today. His cybernetic system of positive thinking and self-image improvements has helped millions of people around the world. With the help of Maltz, people can learn to take control of their lives, become more successful, and achieve greater peace of mind.
