Pete Buttigieg

Pete Buttigieg is an author, Democratic Presidential Candidate and mayor of South Bend, Indiana. Buttigieg is best known for his memoir, Shortest Way Home: One Mayor’s Challenge and a Model for America’s Future, which chronicles his journey from college student to mayor. Since its release in 2019, the book has received critical acclaim and was featured on multiple best-seller lists.

Buttigieg was born in South Bend and raised by his parents. As a child, he was an avid reader, which led him to develop a strong interest in politics and policy.
