Rahul Telang

Rahul Telang is an Indian American author and professor in the field of information systems and commercial analytics at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. Telang has authored or co-authored eight books and over 100 articles in leading journals across the United States and in Europe. His most recent book, Data Smoothing and Missing Data Imputation: Practical Guide for Business Analysts, was published in 2020.

Telang’s research focuses on data modeling and analytics, such as marketing analytics, decision scientific strategies, customer segmentation, and market share estimation. He also explores the development of tools for decision science, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, which are becoming increasingly important in today's digital world. His research has been published in many prominent peer-reviewed journals like the Harvard Business Review and the Journal of Marketing Research.
