Robert A. Glover grew up in a small, working-class town in southern California. Despite the fact that he had very limited exposure to books and culture, Glover cultivated a curiosity and enthusiasm for academics and learning. This passion led him to receive his undergraduate degree in International Relations from the University of California at Davis and his doctoral degree in Marriage, Child and Family Therapy from the California Graduate Institute in 1999.
Glover has worked for 25 years as a psychotherapist and life coach, primarily with men and couples.
