After graduating high school, McShane attended the Columbia University School of Journalism and then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Art History from the City University of New York.

McShane is well known for his debut novel, The Brothers Grimm, which received many positive reviews and won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.
