As a result, he began to place more emphasis on human behavior with the aim of exploring ways to use it to increase work success and productivity.

Through studying the experiences and interviews of thousands of individuals, Stein developed the concept of EQ2, which stands for Emotional Intelligence 2.0, a concept he considers to be the answer to the skills mismatch in that individuals should focus on their innate abilities and skills in order to excel in the workplace. He believes EQ2 is based upon four integral factors: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and social skills.
