Steven Levingston is an accomplished writer and editor who has worked on topics ranging from international affairs to innovative storytelling. Kennedy.

Levingston’s most recent book Little Demon in the City of Light: A True Story of Murder and Mesmerism in Belle Époque Paris was released in 2018. This carefully researched narrative details the extraordinary story of Dr. Jean-Martin Charcot, who, as a leading neurologist, helped launch the field of hypnotherapy in the late 1800s. The book follows the ironic and tragic story of Blanche Wittman, a patient who, with Charcot’s help, developed a high-profile case of hysteria and murder.

Levingston is also a contributing editor for Time magazine, writing from its New York office. In 2016, he wrote a piece called “The Assassination Complex” that detailed how the U.S. was using drones to carry out targeted killings of individuals in the Middle East. This landed him an invitation to the Pulitzer Prize Board to be part of the Pulitzer Prize Committee.

In addition to his work as a writer, editor and contributing author, Levingston is also an inspirational speaker. He has given lectures and talks on topics ranging from innovative journalism to U.S. foreign policy. In 2017, Levingston spoke at the American Foreign Policy Council in Washington, D.C. to discuss his book The Assassination Complex. In the same year, he also spoke at the Oxford Union to explain the revelations of his book.
