Tiffany Haddish

Tiffany Haddish is an American stand-up comic, actress, author, and television host who is one of the most popular comedians in the entertainment industry today. She first made a name for herself as a stand-up comedian, often incorporating her stories from growing up in South Central Los Angeles into her performances. In 2017, her breakout film Girls Trip catapulted her to fame and earned her numerous awards, including a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Haddish has written two books, The Last Black Unicorn and The Date to Soul Mate. Both books were published in 2018 and have earned her much acclaim. In The Last Black Unicorn, Haddish shares her misadventures of growing up in South Central. From dealing with bullies to managing her crush on her brother’s friend, Haddish reveals the deep-rooted pain of her youth in her signature comedic style.

The Date to Soul Mate is a guidebook to break the vicious cycle of relationships that don’t work. Haddish draws from her own experiences, plus lessons she has learned from her mother and other people she has encountered along the way, to provide advice for men and women on the quest for their “soul mate.” The book contains a variety of helpful tips, such as learning to recognize deal-breakers in a potential partner, setting realistic expectations for a relationship, and developing successful communication skills.

Haddish has also served as a television host, including for the hosting of the NBA All-Star celebrity games in 2019. She was also the host of Kevin Hart’s comedy series Hart of the City and the host of kids game show Kids Say the Darndest Things. Additionally, Haddish can be seen in the new Netflix comedy series The Chocolate Bar, which premiered in November 2020.

Most recently, Haddish has returned to her stand-up comedy roots and in 2021, released her first Netflix comedy special, which she wrote and starred in. The special, Tiffany Haddish: Black Mitzvah, debuted in December of 2020 and is critically acclaimed. The special sees Haddish combine her trademark wit with her experience as an African-American Jew, making sure to highlight her unique background.
