Tina Fey is an American actor, writer, producer, and comedian who is best known for her roles on Saturday Night Live, as co-creator of the popular sitcom 30 Rock, and for her performance in Mean Girls. She has been an integral part of the American comedy landscape for decades, and her signature wit and sense of humor have endeared her to millions of fans all over the world.

Tina Fey was born Elizabeth Stamatina Fey in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, on May 18, 1970. Her parents, Donald and Zenovia Fey, worked in the automotive industry. Fey attended the University of Virginia, where she earned her degree in theater in 1992. After college, she moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she joined The Second City improvisational comedy troupe. While at Second City, Tina Fey wrote and performed in many shows – from sketch comedy to stage plays – which earned her recognition in the comedy world. It was also during her time at The Second City that Fey met her future husband, Jeff Richmond; the two got married in 2001.

In 1997, Fey joined the cast of Saturday Night Live, where she quickly rose to fame in skits such as "Weekend Update" with Jimmy Fallon and her satirically seductive Sarah Palin impersonation. Fey also began to write for the show, becoming the first female Head Writer in the show's history. Fey left SNL in 2006, but came back to host in 2008 and hosted again in 2013 to celebrate the show's 40th anniversary.

In 2006, Fey created, wrote, and starred in the television sitcom 30 Rock, which was loosely based on her experiences at SNL. The show was a huge success and won numerous awards, including the Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for all seven seasons. Fey won four Emmys for her work in 30 Rock, as well as a Writers Guild of America Award.

In 2004 Fey wrote a screenplay for the movie Mean Girls, which she also starred in alongside Amy Poehler and Lindsay Lohan. Fey used her experiences as a teenager to provide insight into the world of teenage girls and their interactions with one another. The movie was a success and spawned two sequels.

After Mean Girls, Fey wrote and starred in several films, including Baby Mama, Date Night, and Sisters, in addition to appearing in films like Megamind and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. She also wrote, produced, and appeared in television projects such as Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Great News.

Outside of acting and writing, Fey is an accomplished author. She wrote the autobiographical Bossypants in 2011, which became a best seller and brought her both critical and commercial success. She followed that up in 2014 with the book The Big Push, which was written with collaborator Kim Caramele.

Tina Fey has been an integral part of the comedy world for more than 20 years. She has won multiple awards for acting, writing, and directing, and her legacy will surely live on for many years to come. Her signature wit and satire has brought joy to millions of fans around the world and she continues to be one of the most beloved and popular comedic voices of our time.
