William W. Li
William W. Li is a renowned physician, scientist, author, and global speaker who is best known for his book Eat to Beat Disease: The New Science of How Your Body Can Heal Itself. In this book, Li shares his insights on the healing power of food derived from the newest scientific research. Through years of groundbreaking and innovative research, Li has become one of the most prominent and respected voices on the power of food to promote health, prevent disease, and even treat and cure various serious diseases.
Li was born and raised in the United States, growing up in the Midwest. After completing his undergraduate education at the University of Chicago, he obtained his medical degree at Harvard University. Subsequently, he completed both his residency and fellowship training at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University.
Li began his career at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where he performed research and established the world's first medical research institute dedicated to the relationship between nutrition and health. It was from this research that Li discovered the powerful healing power of food and developed a revolutionary concept he terms nutritional antilogic - a safe, natural approach for improving health through what we eat, rather than the traditional and often less effective use of drugs.
From his research at NIH, Li has published over 200 scientific papers on nutrition and health, as well as six books, including Eat to Beat Disease: The New Science of How Your Body Can Heal Itself. In this book, Li explains how just four specific “antinutrients” can significantly increase the chances of a person developing an illness or becoming seriously ill with a disease. Li also discusses how to incorporate “antinutrients” into a balanced diet to avoid and even reverse degenerative diseases.
In addition to his scientific research, Li is an active speaker who travels around the world to promote his nutritional antilogic message. He is a frequent guest on talks shows, magazines, and documentaries, as well as being featured in many major newspapers and popular health and wellness websites. Additionally, Li has been a keynote speaker at many national and international conferences and a keynote presenter at the White House.
Li’s work has earned him numerous awards for excellence in the field of nutrition and health. In 2019, he received the prestigious Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism, which was awarded to him for his innovative approach to promoting public health and his efforts to spread the message that “What you eat matters”.
William W. Li is one of the most respected and influential researchers in the field of nutrition and health. Through his pioneering research, Li has established himself as a leader in the field of nutrition, offering evidence-based advice on how to use food to improve our health and prevent disease.
