He has a loyal rose, which he takes care of and protects. Although the Little Prince loves the peace and comfort of his home, he is tired of its unchanging routine. He decides to venture out into the universe to see what other planets look like and experience.

The Little Prince visits six different asteroids, each larger than the last and each filled with people who meet him with great joy. He meets a king who wants to control everything, a vain man who worries only about his appearance, a drunkard who only drinks and a lamplighter who is in charge of lighting lamps on a charted course. The Little Prince also visits a geographer, a businessman and a Fox.

Through his travels and conversations with the people he meets, the Little Prince learns about life and love. He learns about the importance of friendship and that there are things in life more valuable than money and possessions. He also learns about the sadness of growing up and leaving his childhood dreams behind.

At the end of the story, the Little Prince returns home to his planet with a greater appreciation for life and a more mature outlook. He takes his rose with him so that he can look after it and make sure it is always properly cared for.

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is an excellent book with a lot of wonderful lessons to be learned. It is charming and timeless, yet still relevant today.
