Bill George
William (Bill) Randall George is a widely published and respected author, speaker, professor and consultant. He has served as a professor at Harvard Business School, author of five acclaimed books, founder of a successful non-profit organization, and as a leadership consultant to executives and organizations around the world.
George was born in 1944 in Tampa, Florida. He graduated with a degree in economics from Georgia Tech in 1965 and obtained his MBA and Ph.D. in management from the University of Michigan. Following his graduation, he served in the Navy as a surface warfare officer, and upon leaving the Navy became a professor at Northwestern University. After Northwestern, he moved on to Harvard Business School in 1981, and served as a professor there until 2004.
The consulting services of Bill George have been used by many high-profile companies and organizations, including IBM, Kraft Foods, Microsoft, Chevron and the World Economic Forum. He has also worked closely with the Forum of Young Global Leaders and the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO).

His other works include “Core Values for Leaders” (2009), “7 Lessons for Leading in Crisis” (2010), “Discover Your True North: A Personal Guide” (2015), and “Lead Yourself First: Inspiring Leadership Through Solitude” (2017).
George is also the founder of the Center for Authentic Leadership, a non-profit organization that works to coach and mentor leaders in the development of their authentic voice. He serves on the boards of several non-profit and corporate organizations and speaks regularly on the topics of leadership and authentic leadership. He also works closely with universities and corporate organizations to develop authentic leadership development programs.
In addition to his career in academics, consulting and writing, Bill George is actively involved in several media projects, including speaking engagements, radio programs, TV shows, documentaries and his popular podcast, On Leadership. His podcast provides insight and advice to leaders on how to become successful.
