Dan Gardner
Dan Gardner is one of the most prolific authors of the 21st century. He has published numerous bestselling books and is highly respected for his thought-provoking works. This book centered around a psychiatrist and a patient with a mental health condition called Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy. It became an instant success, paving the way for Dan to launch his career as an author.
Since then he has written numerous books focusing on psychological realism and dark comedy, including The Echo out of Time, Judge and Jury, and The Rescue Man. He has also written two books on the subject of risk and decision making, Risk: The Science and Politics of Fear and The Science of Fear.

His work has formed the basis of public policy and has been featured in multiple newspapers, journals and magazines. Dan regularly appears as a guest lecturer at universities and seminars, typically on the subject of risk perception and public policy.
In 2018, Dan was awarded the John Maddox Prize for his outstanding work as a writer and public communicator of science. The prize was established by Nature and the Kohn Foundation, and recognizes those who have put their career on the line to foster progress and scientific progress in a generally hostile environment.
