Lisa Everson
Lisa Everson is an American author of contemporary romance and romantic suspense novels. She was born in 1978 in Houston, Texas and grew up in a small town in Ohio, surrounded by farmland and open fields. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati and now resides in northwest Ohio with her husband, two children, and three cats.
Everson has written nineteen novels since her debut in 2008 – most of them have consistently appeared on the USA Today Best Seller list. She is most well-known for her readers’ favorite series, Haven's Crossing, which follows the life of four women living in the small town of Haven's Crossing as they strive to find their place in the world.
Everson’s novels typically focus on the development of characters and their relationships, psychological drama and healings, complex female friendships, and powerful love stories. Her writing is notable for its depth and realism, exploring how love can survive and thrive even in the toughest of circumstances. Her books transition between deliciously sexy romance, heartbreaking tragedy and uncomfortably raw truths while still delivering readers a happily ever after.
Everson values creating stories that are real, powerful, honest, and timeless. Her characters often endure difficult times together and must learn to accept help from others. In her book, 'Love Behind the Scenes', the main character, Daphne, learns to ask for help from her friends and develop a stronger family of her own as she navigates loneliness and grief.
Everson's books often focus on the journey of self-discovery and finding healing from hardship. In her novel 'Forever in My Heart', a woman’s search for happiness is taken to a new level when an old flame turns up in an unexpected town. On the other hand, 'Mending Scars' follows the story of a man and woman facing the possibilities of a brand new tomorrow and learning how to rebuild their broken lives.
Everson is passionate about creating meaningful stories that leave a lasting impression on readers. She enjoys reading and writing stories with powerful messages of hope and faith and promoting meaningful conversations between her characters. Her stories are designed to inspire, comfort, and entertain readers looking for a well-crafted romance with unique elements that make it stand out from the crowd.
Everson has also written for The Pen and The Sword, a long-running magazine focusing on faith and Christian values. Her essays address themes such as relationships, self-discovery, and individual growth.
Everson is an active member of Romance Writers of America, the RWA Faith, Hope & Love Chapter, and the Writers Victory Network. She has been awarded the Golden Quill, the highest accolade of the RWA Faith, Hope & Love Chapter.
In her own words, Lisa Everson is "a lover of stories that bring out the most vulnerable parts of a hero and heroine’s heart and drive home the point that each one of us is worthy of an amazing love story." With her powerful, heartfelt stories, Everson hopes to help readers find their own happily ever afters.
