Madeleine L’Engle is a beloved author and one of the most famous children's authors of the 20th century. The Wind in the Door, the second book in the Time Quintet series, focused on the inner world of a character named Charles Wallace. A complicated book that examines themes of exile, love, maturity, and courage, it was awarded the Newbery Honor in 1967. Madeleine L’Engle was a versatile writer who wrote other celebrated works such as Meet the Austins, A Circle of Quiet, and A Swiftly Tilting Planet.
