Tina Payne Bryson, PhD, is an acclaimed author, psychologist, and parenting expert whose work has been featured in the media and dozens of books. Her work centers around parenting and child development, addressing troublesome behaviors and developing positive relationships. She is the author of several books and bestsellers, such as, The Whole Brain Child, No-Drama Discipline, and The Yes Brain.

Dr. Bryson holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Vanderbilt University and is the Director of The Center for Connection in Pasadena, California, where she provides children and their families with consultation, therapy and family programs. She is also the co-founder of Parenting Beyond Belief, a support community for non-religious families.

The Whole Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child's Developing Mind, published in 2011, is Dr. Bryson's first book co-written with renowned neuropsychiatrist, Dr. Daniel Siegel. The book explores how not only can parents hack their children’s development with strategies tailored to their age, but offers evidence-based methods to better understand their emotions. The Whole Brain Child is written in a way that is accessible to both parents and professionals.

No-Drama Discipline: The Whole-Brain Way to Calm The Chaos and Nurture Your Child's Developing Mind, co-written with Dr. Siegel, was published in 2014. This book provides a parenting model that is based on human biology and practical tools to help parents get their kids to listen without nagging or yelling. It focuses on four key components of discipline: connecting, attunement, empathy, and problem solving.

Dr. Bryson’s latest book, The Yes Brain: How to Cultivate Courage, Curiosity, and Resilience in Your Child, was published in 2018. This book offers insights about how to help parents and children navigate through daily emotions and develop a building block for emotional and mental well-being. The Yes Brain encourages children to not succumb to their emotionalstorms and panic, but instead offers practical tools to develop resilience and emotional balance.

Dr. Bryson also works in collaboration with Siegel and others, such as Winnicott, Bowlby, Mahler and Fonagy.

She conducts keynote addresses and workshops for both private and public organizations, such as school districts, government agencies, hospitals, and universities. She also offers private consultations to help identify the individual needs of parents, children, families, schools, and therapists.

In addition to her professional life, Dr. Bryson takes pride in her family, which includes her husband, two children and three rescue dogs. She resides in Pasadena, California, with her family. Dr. Bryson’s work continues to inspire and aid parents and children alike. Through her writing, lectures and workshops, Dr. Bryson has become a trusted source, offering parents effective and evidence-based parenting advice.
